A strong odur, plastic tarps painted withe the address „Scheissegalien 14a“ („Whatever Street 14a), and german punk music blaring from loudspeakers: punks live in this small camper settlement on the edge of Hanover´s Nordstadt district.
They are between 17 and 24 years old and have decided to live a life free of rules and duties. The condition of settlement calls to remind a battlefield: stamped-on garbage and junk lie around everywhere. The are no showers, heat comes from stoves, and electricity comes from old generators.
The reportage „Punk ist kein Kaffeekränzchen“ gives an insight into the evreyday life of these punks who try to survive in a capitalistic urban jungle.
