This year I was accepted at Eddie Adams Workshop – one of photojournalism’s most rewarded programs for emerging photographers.
Each year 100 attendees (50 students and 50 young professionals) meet in upstate New York for a four-day intense workshop.
It was an overwhelming weekend with lots of inspiration and learning from the top photographers and editors.
I was part of the Yellow Team and was fortunate to work together with Rodrigo Abd, Santiago Lyon, Gabriella Demczuk and Victor Blue. Our team covered stories among the topic „America Divided“.
Besides the assignment that we had to photograph there were lectures from experienced professionals from the industry. At night at 11:30 we got the opportunity to show our portfolio to top photographers and editors. Among them were James Estrin – NYT Lens Blog, Elisabeth Krist – National Geographic, Craig F. Walker – photogarpher, Emily Anne Epstein – The Atlantic, Tim Rassmussen – ESPN and many many more.
The days were long and I got an average of 3 hours of sleep. Nevertheless I feel very grateful to have become part of the photo family.
I feel very honored to being awarded with the TIME LightBox Mentorship. So excited to work with Olivier Laurent. Actually, I still can´t believe it!
Thanks to everybody that made this wonderful experience possible! Shout out to Black Team, White Team, Uncle Jim Colton, Alyssa Adams, Mirjam Evers and Marie Monteleone.
